The Tales of Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav
The book is a collection of Chassidic stories that deal with various themes, such as the search for truth, the process of drawing closer to God, dealing with fears, and striving for spiritual perfection. The book includes explanations by Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz.
The Tales of Rabbi Nachman was written by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, the grandson of the author of the Tanya and one of the prominent spiritual leaders of the Chassidic movement in the 18th century. The tales are considered one of the central works of the Chassidic movement and are studied to this day in Breslov and the broader Jewish world.
The stories were originally passed on orally to his disciples before being published in writing, later transcribed by Rabbi Nathan (Sternharz) of Breslov, Rabbi Nachman’s chief disciple.
